Description

This repository contains the scripts necessary to reproduce the results presented in Minaudo et al., 2026 "Uncertainty in aquatic greenhouse gas flux estimates arises from subjective processing of floating chamber time series", currently under review in Limnoloy and Oceanography: Methods.

In the folder ~/ghg-flux-expert/scripts/

  • 0_expert_vs_automatic_processing.R: Script distributed to GHG experts for manual inspection and data selection of valid time series.
  • 1_calculate_fluxes_with_aquaGHG.R: Calculate CO2 and CH4 fluxes with and without the time intervals based on expert data selection.
  • 2_analyse_expert_vs_automatic_processing.R: Reproduce analysis and make figures for the main manuscript
  • 3_Effect_of_smoothing_on_FCH4tot.R: Additional analysis to study the effect of smoothing time series on the calculation of total CH4 flux
  • 4_Plot_ebullition_patterns.R: load and plot data with clear ebullition pattern to show the performance of the algorithm detecting ebullition events.

As indicated in the headers' scripts, make sure you have correctly downloaded all the data stored in the following Zenodo repository. All data files must be placed in the following directory: ~/ghg-flux-expert/data.
