Religious Studies Theses at Czech Universities (2010–2024)

This dataset contains systematically coded metadata and content characteristics of 240 bachelor's and master's theses in Religious Studies (religionistika) defended at selected Czech universities between 2010 and 2024. The data was collected as part of the course RLMgB605: Digitálně-datová religionistika: od katalogu k tabulce a grafu (Digital Data Religious Studies: From Catalog to Table and Graph) at Masaryk University, Spring 2025.

ANONYMIZED DATASET: To protect student privacy, all personally identifiable information has been removed, including thesis titles, student names, full defense dates, direct URLs, keywords, and evaluation grades. Only aggregated categorical data (year, institution, gender, methodological approaches, citation patterns) is included.

The dataset enables quantitative analysis of methodological approaches to the study of religion across institutions and time, citation patterns of classic theorists in the field, gender distribution in Religious Studies programs, and temporal trends in research methodologies (2010–2024).
