Estudo da contaminación no esteiro da Ramallosa mediante a determinación de δ15N en Fucus vesiculosus

Abstract
Anthropogenic organic pollution in Galician estuaries
constitutes a growing threat to the health of coastal
ecosystems, driven by the intensive use of fertilizers,
urban growth and inefficient wastewater management.
Thus, determining the value of organic pollution is essential
to maintain control over the quality of the coastal
ecosystem. In this study, the human impact on the
Ramallosa estuary (Vigo estuary) was evaluated by
analyzing δ¹5N and %N in the brown algae Fucus vesiculosus
and organic matter in sediments, selecting three
strategic areas based on their distance from the mouth
of the Miñor River. The results obtained, from different
statistical analyses (Levene’s Test, Shapiro-Wilk/
Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test and parametric ANOVA), revealed
significant differences in %N of algae, but not in
δ¹5N or in organic matter of the sediment, suggesting
that there are no significant differences in pollution between
the three areas.
Resumo
A contaminación orgánica de orixe antropoxénica nas rías
galegas constitúe unha ameaza crecente para a saúde dos
ecosistemas costeiros, impulsada polo uso intensivo de
fertilizantes, o crecemento urbano e a xestión ineficiente
de augas residuais. Así, determinar o valor da contaminación
orgánica resulta indispensable para manter o control
sobre a calidade do ecosistema costeiro. Neste estudo,
avaliouse o impacto humano no esteiro da Ramallosa (ría
de Vigo) mediante a análise de δ¹5N e %N na alga parda
Fucus vesiculosus e a materia orgánica en sedimentos,
seleccionando tres zonas estratéxicas en función da súa
distancia á desembocadura do río Miñor. Os resultados
obtidos, a partir de diferentes análises estatísticas (Test
de Levene, Test de Shapiro-Wilk/Kolmogorov-Smirnov e
ANOVA paramétrico), revelaron diferenzas significativas
na %N das algas, pero non no δ¹5N ou na materia orgánica
do sedimento, suxerindo que non hai diferenzas significativas
de contaminación entre as tres zonas.
