Fundamentos para una Crítica de la Razón Procesual / Foundations for a Critique of Processual Reason

Description

This record contains the bilingual publication (Spanish and English) of a philosophical manifesto that establishes the axiomatic-deductive foundations for a critique of processual reason and a reconstruction of political humanism.

Content

The manifesto proposes five axioms grounded in the Western philosophical tradition (Boethius, Aristotle, Kant, Lévinas, Arendt, Spaemann, Jonas, Mounier, MacIntyre):

  1. Categorical distinction between person and thing (Boethius, Aquinas, Spaemann, Taylor, Ricoeur)
  2. Irreducibility of moral judgment to technical procedure (Aristotle: phronesis vs techne; Dreyfus, Nussbaum)
  3. The person as end in itself (Kant, Mounier, Sen, Nussbaum, Sandel)
  4. Responsibility as constitutive of the moral subject (Lévinas, Jonas, Bauman)
  5. The capacity to initiate (Arendt: natality; Rosa)

From these axioms, eight theorems are derived with logical necessity, addressing: the non-delegability of moral decisions, the moral nature of political decisions, structural dehumanization through algorithmic delegation, the humanism/materialism axis as superior to left/right, normative parasitism of materialism, convergence of all materialisms, education as civilizational battlefield, and subsidiarity as axiomatic requirement.

For each axiom, a negation landscape is exhibited: the world that results from denying it. The diagnosis: contemporary processual systems operate as if these axioms did not exist, producing a functional eclipse of the person.

Full philosophical demonstrations are developed in The Eclipse of the Person: A Critique of Processual Reason (forthcoming).
