Symbolic Mechanics — Volume IX: The Blackroom and the Addictive Loop (v0.1)

Authors/Creators

Description

Volume IX of Symbolic Mechanics formalizes the blackroom state and the core addictive loop as boundary configurations emerging from the Δ→S→L→R engine. This document defines how the system collapses into a single-source perceptual field when symbolic overload, attentional narrowing, and boundary contraction converge.

The volume introduces the structural mechanics of the blackroom, including:

(1) the reduction of multi-channel perception into a low-visibility single-input mode,

(2) the reinforcement cycle through which Δ-generated light sources dominate the room,

(3) the conditions under which attentional collapse becomes self-stabilizing, and

(4) the emergence of addictive loops as mechanical consequences of repeated boundary shutdown.

Rather than framing addiction as behavioural or emotional pathology, Volume IX situates it as a deterministic configuration of symbolic load, visibility decline, and boundary gating. This establishes the mechanical foundation for later volumes on projection, relational occlusion, and signal dominance.
