Description

Faith and Revelation

Our understanding of what is the faith depends strongly on the conception of revelation. American theologian, card. Avery Dulles has described “models of revelation” that is, as he calls them himself, “root metaphors”. This article takes profit from his achievements but doesn’t discuss them directly. It takes into account the statement of popes and teaching of the Church Magisterium.

God reveals himself through his word and the salvific events. The revelation is then mediated through centuries. The human answer of faith takes place in in the history. Following Christ means to accept the revelated truth and wholly bind the faithful’s life with the history of salvation. In centre of that states always the cross.
