Description
Temnora livida (Holland, 1889)
COMMON NAME(S): Hawk moth, Sphinx moth or Hornworm.
SYNONYM(S): None.
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka, in Lusaka Province; Ndola, in Copperbelt Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): One Rubiaceae species (Psychotria sp.) and one Hypericaceae species (Harungana madagascariensis Lam. ex Poir.) are reported as host plants of the taxon in unnamed African countries (MacNulty 1970). The African Moths (2019) webpage indicated that one Rubiaceae species (Psychotria sp.) and one Hypericaceae species (Harungana madagascariensis Lam. ex Poir.) are larval foodplants of the taxon.
