Description
Gonimbrasia anna anna (Maassen, 1885)
COMMON NAME(S): Twin Line Emperor.
SYNONYM(S): None.
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Kafue, in Lusaka Province; Kopa, in Muchinga Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include one Arecaceae species (Borassus aethiopum Mart.) in the Democratic Republic of Congo and another (Hyphaene petersiana Klotzsch ex Mart.) in an unnamed country elsewhere in Africa. In addition to this, the African Moths (2019) website lists thre other Arecaceae species namely, Hyphaene coriacea Gaertn., H. crinita Gaertn. and Hyphaene thebaica (L.) Mart., as larval foodplants of the taxon.
