Description
This repository contains the data needed to reproduce the majority of the figures in the above work.
The directory contents are:
./ReadMe.md - this ReadMe
./FigureReproduction.ipynb - A python jupyter notebook which demonstrates loading in and plotting the data contents of this repository (requires numpy, matplotlib, scipy and pandas). We demonstrate how to plot Figure 3 and Figure A2.
./Data/15min_timeseries.csv - The 15 min averaged data used in this work and the derived Alfven point position from each measurement. These data are tabulated for Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, and measurements at the Earth-Sun L1 point, and span from 2018-2025. For each probe, we tabulate plasma density, solar wind speed, proton temperature, position, radial field strength, alfven speed, alfven point location, critical speed at alfven point, density at alfven point.
./Data/Alfven_Surface_Statistics/ - For each Parker Solar Probe orbit from E01-E23, we provide a file tabulating statistics of alfven surface height vs carrington longitude from each of the spacecraft. The statistics are computed in 2 deg bins and contain mean, median, standard deviation and the 25th and 75th percentiles.
./Data/Isopoly_Profiles/ - Contains the isopoly profiles (Dakeyo+2022,Shi+2022,Rivera+2024,2025) generated in this work. Each file labeled v1au=<...>kms.csv is the profile which passes through speed <...> at 1au ranging from 273-804km/s. Within each file, a profile is provided for density, velocity, proton and electron temperature. A comment (comment character #) at the top of each file contains the parameters used to generate the profile, which were generated using the code at github.com/STBadman/ParkerSolarWind .
./Data/RadialStatistics/ - contains statistics for plasma density, solar wind speed and proton temperature, as a function of distance, derived from the 15 minute dataset. Each file tabulates the 1st, 25th, 50th (median), 95th, and 99th percentile for respective plasma parameter.
