Data Products for "NASA's Pandora SmallSat Mission: Simulated Performance of Stellar Characterization and Contamination Correction"
Description
This dataset contains the simulated Pandora VISDA and NIRDA observations used in the paper, "NASA's Pandora SmallSat Mission: Simulated Performance of Stellar Characterization and Contamination Correction."
The data products include native-cadence and 12-hr binned spectrophotometric time series for eight stellar spot scenarios (K and M dwarfs; fast and slow rotators; giant and solar-like spot morphologies). Each file contains count-rate measurements (e⁻ s⁻¹), associated 1σ uncertainties, and corresponding spectral flux densities (erg s⁻¹ cm⁻² Å⁻¹). Units are stored as HDF5 dataset attributes.
The simulated observations incorporate photon noise (Poisson statistics based on total electron counts), background and dark current contributions, and read noise, combined in quadrature. A fixed random seed was used for the noise realization to ensure reproducibility. The 12-hr products are constructed from pre- and post-transit windows for ten visits per scenario, excluding ±1 hour around transit center.
