THE LINGUOCULTURAL FEATURES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK
Authors/Creators
Description
This article explores the linguocultural features of phraseological units in English and Uzbek. Phraseological units, as fixed expressions with figurative meanings, reflect the cultural values, norms, and worldview of their speakers. By comparing English and Uzbek phraseology, this study highlights both universal and culture-specific elements in language use. The research demonstrates how cultural concepts, such as social behavior, human relationships, and moral values, are encoded in idiomatic expressions. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay between language and culture and provide insights for cross-cultural communication, translation, and language teaching.
