Description

Siccia sordida (Butler, 1877d)

COMMON NAME(S): Siccia moth.

SYNONYM(S): Aemene subcinerea Moore, 1878; A. modesta Moore, 1878; A. nigropunctana Saalm̧ller, 1880; Siccia sordida albescens Draudt, in Seitz (ed.) 1914; S. conformis Hampson, 1914a; S. punctipennis ab. teitaensis Strand, 1922 [unavailable name]; S. humilis Rothschild, 1924; S. baibarensis Matsumura, 1927; S. arabica Wiltshire, 1983; Afrasura terlineata Durante, 2009; Siccia bifurcata Hacker, 2016.

DISTRIBUTION: Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lungu Forest Reserve, 20 km N of Mbala, 1452m, 08°42’27’’S, 31°16’34’E, in Northern Province.

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Unknown.
