Language Instruments
Authors/Creators
Description
This book provides an AI prompt that enables any large language model to analyze and adjust a given text using specialized language instruments. Application is immediate rather than conceptual.
Language carries signals beyond explicit content—pressure, identity labels, urgency, and wording that narrows alternatives. These elements are structural load.
Language Instruments presents five instruments for noticing and working with structural load in texts and conversations. The instruments make it possible to observe when language is doing more than conveying its core message.
They operate by removing, displaying, or halting structural load. Language effects become visible while decisions remain with the user. Every application is deliberate. Non-use is equally valid.
The five core instruments:
- HELDR — analyze a finished text and observe how it functions
- VRHELDR — clear structural load from a text
- ONTHELDR — display structural load explicitly
- HumanCheck — ensure a reader can follow a text step by step
- NietsVerder — end a text or discussion on purpose
The instruments apply to emails, essays, messages, policy drafts, debates, documents, and AI-generated content. They do not prescribe beliefs or positions. They reveal language effects while leaving judgment with the reader.
This book is for readers who want to examine how language functions structurally, not only what it states. It is a compact technical manual focused on practical instruments for analyzing and adjusting how language shapes meaning.
