Data used in Hoogshagen et al, 2026

This repository contains data used in the various analyses of Hoogshagen et al., 2026. 

Descriptions:

sample_data.csv

1. Monarch: unique identifier for each sample
2. Genotype: Genetic background of monarch
3. Treatment: plant indivdual was reared on
4. Parasite: Blank because the same parasite was used for each individual
5. Dose: Number of parasite spores given
6. Lineage: More specific genetic background
7. Hatch_date: Date individual hatched
8. Inoc_date: Date indivdiual was innoculated with parasite
9. Tube_date: Date individual was placed in tube with plant
10. Pup_date: Date individual pupated
11. Pupal_score: Assessment of parasite proliferation (0-5)
12. Eclosion_date: Date individual eclosed
13. Sex: Sex of individual
14. Adult_death_date: Date died as an adult
15. Adult_life_span: Life span after eclosion
16. Notes: Specific notes about individuals during data colleciton

caterpillar_color_data.csv

1. Monarch: unique identifier for each sample
2. Genotype: Genetic background of monarch
3. Treatment: plant indivdual was reared on
4. Pupal_score: Assessment of parasite proliferation (0-5)
5. Lineage: More specific genetic background
6. Adult_life_span: Life span after eclosion
7. black: proportion of cuticle that was black
8. est_spore_count: estimated spore counts based on pupal score

dorsal_wing_color_data.csv

1. Monarch: unique identifier for each sample
2. Genotype: Genetic background of monarch
3. Treatment: plant indivdual was reared on
4. Pupal_score: Assessment of parasite proliferation (0-5)
5. Sex: Sex of individual
6. est_spore_count: estimated spore counts based on pupal score
