EROD-HR – A High Resolution Global Dust Erodibility Dataset

Description

EROD-HR (High Resolution Erodibility) is a new global dataset designed to improve the representation of mineral dust emissions in atmospheric models. The dataset provides a spatially continuous, high-resolution (5 km) map of surface erodibility factors suitable for use in the GOCART dust emission scheme and other similar parameterizations.

This dataset was developed using updated global soil and land-surface information, enhanced spatial resolution, and a revised methodology aimed to overcome the limitations of the traditional EROD field used in WRF and other Earth System Models. The product is intended for research applications related to:

  •     Dust emission modeling
  •     Atmospheric composition simulations
  •     Air quality studies
  •     Climate and Earth system modeling
