Description

Based on the book "Democracy and Media in Europe: A discursive-material approach", authored by professors Nico Carpentier and Jeffrey Wimmer, the event invited a critical reflection on the democratic roles of the media, at a time when anti-democratic discourses are increasingly present in global contexts. The debate sought to avoid defeatist attitudes, instead emphasising the strengths of European democracy and the contributions that the media can (and should) provide for its renewal (8 October 2025).
