Description

An automatic weather station (AWS) is installed at nearby Trakarding Glacier in the Rolwaling region of the Nepal Himalaya. This AWS has been installed and operated since October 2022. This archive contains the daily values of the meteorological variables, along with the same variables extracted from the ERA5 reanalysis dataset, from 2 October 2022 to 31 October 2023. Some calibrated variables (tp_era5, lap_era5, and lrd_calib) are modified from the original ERA5 data. A detailed procedure is described in Fujita and Kayastha (in review).

AWS location: 86.485 degE, 27.844 degN, 4806 m a.s.l.

Instruments and variables:
Vaisala WXT536 (2.07 m): Air temperature, Relative humidity, Wind speed, and wind direction
Kipp & Zonen CNR4 (1.47 m): Downward and upward shortwave radiation, Downward and upward longwave radiation
Onset RG3-M (tipping bucket on ground): Precipitation
Data Logger: Campbell CR1000X
Interval: 10 sec sampling & 15 min recording
