Basalt Provenance Triage Toolkit v10.0

Description

The Basalt Provenance Triage Toolkit v10.0 is a comprehensive software system for the geochemical classification of Early Bronze Age I basalt vessels from Egypt and the Levant. It integrates pXRF/ICP‑MS data, typological metadata, and a multi‑stage decision‑tree to assign samples to key provenance groups, including Egyptian Haddadin Flow, Egyptian Alkaline/Exotic, Sinai Transitional, Sinai Ophiolitic, and Local Levantine sources.

The toolkit provides automated ratio calculations (Zr/Nb, Cr/Ni, Ba/Rb), confidence scoring, missing‑value triage, and publication‑ready export tables. It supports both GUI and command‑line workflows, enabling rapid batch processing of large datasets.

Version 10.0 introduces a multi‑museum integration framework, including a live Metropolitan Museum of Art API connector and a universal web scraper capable of extracting object metadata from any museum website. This allows researchers to link geochemical samples directly with museum accession records and online catalogs.

The toolkit is designed for archaeologists, geochemists, and museum professionals working with basalt vessels, groundstone tools, and regional provenance studies. It is released under a CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0 license and is intended for research and educational use only.
