Gravity as Emergent Flow from Structural Asymmetry: A Conceptual Framework

This working paper presents the Asymmetric Flow Theory (AFT), a pre-geometric framework where gravity emerges from a fundamental structural asymmetry field Φ(x). The theory postulates that perfect symmetry is physically impossible—∇Φ ≠ 0 everywhere—and that this asymmetry drives a mandatory flow, with motion given by dxᵐ⁄dτ = –κ∇ᵐΦ. Spacetime geometry emerges statistically from flow correlations, recovering General Relativity in the continuous limit. AFT naturally accounts for dark energy via V(Φ) and dark matter-like effects through flow corrections, without new particles. Testable predictions include modulated large-scale structure, weak lensing vorticity, and environment-dependent galaxy rotations. Developed through human–AI collaboration, this conceptual proposal invites discussion and further development.
