Description

This document details proposed revisions to ISO 22916:2022. These revisions are intended to clarify interoperability requirements without restricting existing manufacturing approaches.
The main changes are as follows:
• More granular dimensions for device footprints
• Extended footprints for inclusion of clamping hardware
• A structured framework for communicating device footprint and port positions by text
• A structured framework for specifying requirements and properties of sub-regions of devices
• Adjustments to the text of the scope to clearly state that this document pertains to microfluidic interconnection and not connections to/between conventional fluid handling systems.
• The previously included device classifications will be expanded into a framework for specifying device operating window.
• Ambiguity will be removed from the text in several places
