Science Communication Readiness Tool for Scientific Institutions

The Science Communication Readiness Tool was developed as part of the SciComm ThinkLabs initiative convened by the Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) to help institutions assess their current commitment and capacity for science communication and public engagement. It outlines key dimensions of readiness, highlights areas that may require strengthening, and suggests practical measures institutions can take to improve their ability to communicate research and engage diverse publics. Funders can also use this tool to understand how well an institution supports accessible science, outreach, and public-facing engagement. The tool is a living document and will continue to be tested, refined, and adapted. Institutions or individuals interested in contributing to its development are encouraged to get in touch with the authors.
