EXPLORING MARINE BIOACTIVES FOR THE TREATMENT OF POST INFLAMMATORY HYPERPIGMENTATION
Description
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) causes dark skin patches after inflammation or injury and can strongly impact self-confidence, especially in darker skin tones. Conventional treatments often cause irritation or give inconsistent results. Marine-derived compounds from seaweeds and other marine organisms offer a promising natural alternative. These bioactives help reduce excess pigmentation by inhibiting melanin production, calming inflammation, and protecting the skin from oxidative damage. With improved delivery systems enhancing their effectiveness, marine bio-actives show strong potential as safe and sustainable options for PIH treatment.
