This article analyzes the current problems encountered in the process of teaching English literature to first-year students studying in English, the reasons for their emergence, and ways to eliminate the problems. The study mainly covers language competence, methodological approaches, teacher qualifications, as well as factors such as the use of educational technologies and information and communication tools.
