Description
Este artículo explora el artivismo —la combinación de arte y activismo— como una herramienta educativa y social capaz de fomentar la conciencia crítica, la participación ciudadana y la transformación social. A partir de experiencias desarrolladas en contextos universitarios y comunitarios en España, el estudio analiza cómo las prácticas artísticas comprometidas pueden convertirse en un recurso pedagógico para abordar problemáticas como la desigualdad, la exclusión social y la justicia social.
La investigación se basa en el análisis de las voces de artistas, educadores y estudiantes que participan en proyectos artivistas, mostrando cómo el arte puede ir más allá de la expresión estética para convertirse en un lenguaje de acción social, diálogo y reflexión colectiva. El trabajo pone de relieve el valor del arte como medio para generar empatía, visibilizar realidades silenciadas y fortalecer el vínculo entre educación, comunidad y compromiso social.
Este estudio está dirigido a docentes, profesionales de la educación social, artistas, estudiantes y agentes culturales, así como a cualquier persona interesada en el potencial del arte como herramienta para el cambio social y la educación transformadora.
Abstract (English)
This article examines artivism—the intersection of art and activism—as an educational and social tool for promoting critical awareness, civic engagement, and social transformation. Drawing on experiences developed in university and community contexts in Spain, the study explores how socially engaged artistic practices can function as pedagogical resources to address issues such as inequality, social exclusion, and social justice.
The research is based on the perspectives of artists, educators, and students involved in artivist initiatives, highlighting how art can move beyond aesthetic expression to become a language of social action, dialogue, and collective reflection. The study emphasizes the role of art in fostering empathy, making marginalized realities visible, and strengthening the relationship between education, community, and social commitment.
This work is aimed at educators, social education professionals, artists, students, and cultural practitioners, as well as anyone interested in the use of art as a tool for social change and transformative education.
