Description

This repository contains STL and FREECAD files for the Fiber Nook, a 3D-printable protective storage mount for lensed optical fibers on Thorlabs Nanomax stages.

Lensed fiber tips on mounts such as the Thorlabs HFR007 and HFV002 are fragile and expensive. Standard storage solutions leave tips exposed to accidental contact during handling or when parked on optical tables. This mount provides a protective enclosure that shields the fiber tip from contact. The stackable design allows for high-density storage on optical tables, and the parts can be fabricated with standard FDM 3D printers.

The original Fiber Nook concept was developed by Octave Photonics (See their product here https://www.octavephotonics.com/fibernook). We created this open-source version based on their design to make it accessible to the broader optics research community.
