Linguistical Codification of Sexual Acts in Urhobo.

Introduction: This study investigates the use of sexual codes in theUrhobo language. The objectives are to list and explain these sexual codes,who are qualified to use them, the condition for their usage, when and whereto use them, who are the developers, and its function in the Urhobo language.Theoretical reviews show that different languages use different codes forsexual related matters which are traceable to cultural background andheritage. Sexual related matters are sacred in the Urhobo culture and metfor some specific persons such as adults and married persons. The studyindicates that sexual codes are developed and used by the parties that areinvolved base on the traditionally accepted places and conditions. The studyconcludes that discussions on sexual related matters are prejudice anddiscriminating against the women folks in the Urhobo traditional atmospherebecause they are not allowed to say certain things about sexual act.
