Description
The topic of the thesis is the 5G system manual for Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Lapland UAS). The aim of the study was to produce a clear and practical document that supports the work of system administrators, laboratory staff, and students in their projects involving the 5G system. The intention was to describe the operation, maintenance, and implementation of the system, as well as provide guidance for potential fault situations.
At the beginning of the study, the architecture, interface connections, and maintenance perspectives of the fixed 5G system of the private operator at Lapland UAS and the Off-Grid 5G Mobile Network system were reviewed. Differences between commercial operators and the 5G network of Lapland UAS were considered, as well as a general overview of the 5G network and its technical characteristics.
Various technical manuals and standards on how to create consistent practices and uniform structures for manuals were examined. Sources found in public materials, such as literature, other manuals, and Internet resources were used to enhance the systematic and technical documentation of the manual for professional target groups.
The handbook created as a result of the thesis study is a significant product for the 5G system at Lapland UAS. There was not any previous version of consistent operating procedures for system administrators and laboratory personnel regarding the use of the 5G system and safe working practices. The challenge and area for improvement for the manual is the scope and development of the 5G system.
