Description
Data from a double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled pilot trial investigating transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as an adjunct to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for smoking cessation. Conducted in Germany (2012-2013), the study randomized 54 adults with tobacco dependence to active (2 mA, 30 min, left DLPFC) or sham tDCS over 7 weekly sessions combined with group CBT. The dataset includes 49 participants (modified ITT population) with baseline characteristics, smoking status at multiple timepoints (baseline through 6-month follow-up), exhaled CO levels, cigarettes per day, craving scores (QSU-brief), and blinding integrity data.
