Description
Planothidium lanceolatum (Brébisson ex Kützing) Lange-Bertalot (1999: 287) s. l. (Fig. 11)
Morphology: Valves elliptic-lanceolate or elliptic, 15.3–17.5 µm long, 5.8–6.0 µm wide. Apices broadly rounded, usually subcapitate. Axial area narrow, linear. Central area bowtie-shaped at the raphid valve and unilateral at the rapheless valve (a sinus is present). Raphe filiform, straight. Striae density—16.5–17.5/10 µm. Areolae unresolvable in LM.
Representative samples: O-1, O-5, O-8, O-9, O-10, O-11, O-13, O-15, O-16, O-103, O-L.
Ecology: found in samples with pH=5.16–8.60, t=6.3–13.7°С, Ec=10–420 µS/cm, TDS<0.20 ppt. Salinityindifferent, alkaliphilic, β-mesosaprobic.
