Description

Hannaea arcus (Ehrenberg) R.M. Patrick (1966: 132) (Fig. 2)

Morphology: Valves convex, tapering towards the end, 34.5–106.4 µm long, 4.9–7.0 µm wide. Dorsal side somewhat triangular, ventral side concave, with a semicircular inflation in the central part. Apices drawn out, capitate. Axial area diminished. Central area formed by the unilateral inflation, covered by several ghost striae. Striae parallel, 17–18.5/10 µm.

Representative samples: O-1, O-5, О-8, O-9, О-10, О-11, О-12, О-13, О-15, O-16, O-103, O-L.

Ecology: found in samples with pH=5.16–8.60, t=6.3–13.7°С, Ec=10–420 µS/cm, TDS<0.20 ppt.
