Description
Eucocconeis laevis (Østrup) Lange-Bertalot in Lange-Bertalot & Genkal (1999: 46) (Fig. 21)
Morphology: Valves elliptic or slightly elliptic-lanceolate, 15.7–20.0 µm long, 6.6–7.2 µm wide. Apices moderately protracted, obtusely rounded. Raphe straight, oblique in LM, with straight proximal endings. The curvature of the distal fissures is unresolvable in LM. Axial area linear, diminished. Central area unilaterally developed, triangleshaped. Striae radiate throughout the valve, 28–30/10 µm.
Representative samples: O-1, O-5, О-8, O-9, О-10, О-11, О-12, О-13, О-15, O-103.
Ecology: found in samples with pH=5.16–8.60, t=8.1–12.3°С, Ec=10–420 µS/cm, TDS<0.20 ppt.
