CoARA Boost CF1 - Qualitative KPIs Tailored For Creative Industries: : A Pilot Study on Film-Making, Wearables, and Game Development - Final Report

This final report presents the outcomes of the project conducted within the framework of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), focusing on the development of qualitative, context-sensitive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for R&D activities in the creative industries, including wearable technology, game development, and filmmaking.

Building on recent research that highlights the limitations of purely quantitative and financially oriented evaluation systems, the project proposes an alternative KPI framework that captures process quality, innovation, societal relevance, and creative excellence. Supported by the research infrastructure of Middle East Technical University (METU), the project contributes to advancing fairer, more inclusive, and interdisciplinary approaches to research assessment in line with CoARA principles.
