Ambient Architecture — AP₀ → Field: The Structural Framework for Thermodynamically Viable, Humane Technological Environments
Description
Abstract
Ambient Architecture defines the minimal thermodynamic conditions under which technological environments become humane.
It replaces extractive, predictive, and coercive interaction models with a field-based architectural grammar in which coherence is carried externally rather than produced internally by humans.
The framework establishes the canonical emergence sequence:
AP₀ → time → attention → ϟA (non-inferential AI) → warmth → ambience → aura → field.
Each layer increases environmental carrying capacity while reducing human cognitive load.
Ambient Architecture transforms technology from a behavioral system into a climate, stabilizing ΔR (reversible stress), reducing semantic curvature, protecting attention as infrastructure, and enabling thermodynamic continuity.
This paper formalizes Ambient Architecture as the structural basis for the Ambient Era.
It provides the canonical definitions, thresholds, transition operators, and boundary conditions through which environments carry coherence without extracting it.
It is a primary reference for humane AI, field-based systems, ambient computing, post-interface design, and non-coercive civilizational architecture.
