Description

This dataset contains the data and derived outputs used to analyze spatial and environmental niche overlap between polymorphic hoverfly mimics (Volucella bombylans) and their bumblebee models (Bombus spp.) across Norway. The dataset includes cleaned species occurrence records compiled from museum collections and publicly available biodiversity databases (Artsdatabanken), and environmental predictor layers used for species distribution modelling.
Specifically, the dataset comprises:
(i) georeferenced occurrence records for V. bombylans colour morphs and Bombus terrestris s.l., B. lapidarius s.l., and B. pascuorum s.l. (Model_mimics)
(ii) processed environmental variables used as predictors in species distribution models (Annual_mean_temperature, Annual_precipitation, Elevation and Area_resource_Norway)

These data support analyses of spatial matching, niche similarity, and niche nesting between mimics and models, and underpin the results presented in the associated manuscript.
