POLITICAL PROCESSES IN CENTRAL ASIA IN KHALIFA IBN HAYYOT'S WORK "TARIKH"

This thesis is devoted to the study of political processes in Central Asia based on Tarikh by Khalifa ibn Hayyot, one of the mature representatives of Muslim historiography of the 8th–9th centuries. The research analyzes changes of power in the region, the activities of military commanders and local rulers, political alliances, and relations among various governing authorities. The thesis demonstrates that Khalifa ibn Hayyot’s Tarikh is an important source for studying the political history of Central Asia.
