Description

This paper proposes a digital framework for integrating Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to support whole life carbon assessment and net-zero construction in the UK. Based on a PRISMA-guided systematic literature review, the study identifies key technical and organisational barriers to BIM–LCA integration and develops a structured workflow to improve data consistency and early-stage decision-making. The framework provides a practical roadmap for improving carbon assessment reliability and supporting sustainability-driven design in the built environment.
