CBASS (Coral Bleaching Automated Stress System) Material List

  • 1. Department of Biology, University of Konstanz, Konstanz, Germany

Description

This is a material list to purchase all parts required to build a "basic" CBASS (Coral Bleaching Automated Stress System) version sensu Evensen et al. 2023 (https://aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/lom3.10555) for use in remote settings.

We have noticed that suppliers for various parts change or certain parts are discontinued at large (e.g., Coleman cooler boxes). We have also noticed that replacing some items with other parts may affect system performance. The system components are optimized for the respective tank volume to achieve envisioned heating/cooling rates. Thus, it is recommended (i) to purchase all parts for a complete system at once and to (ii) test performance of the system if specific parts are replaced with other items.

All listed items are availabe as of the publication date. Some pictures are also provided with this release, so to have an overview of the assembled system. We will try to add further detail and keep the list up to date moving forward.
