The Return Vector: Cardinal and φ-Scaling Patterns in Cross-Continental Monument Bearings

Description

This paper tests whether ancient monument orientations and inter-site bearings cluster on azimuths predicted by Energetic First Principles (E1P)—a theoretical framework describing universal process dynamics through four phases (AA, CC, CA, AC) mapped to cardinal directions and φ-derived angles.

Using WGS84 geodesic calculations across eight sites (Göbekli Tepe, Giza, Stonehenge, Newgrange, Nabta Playa, Angkor Wat, Philae, Serpent Mound), we analyze 56 directed bearings against 13 E1P predictions.

Results show 22 matches (39%) versus ~12% expected by chance, with the strongest signal at AC→AA (315°)—a "return/renewal" transition appearing independently in four cross-continental bearings.

Extended φ-series testing reveals alignments at 360/φ³ and 360/φ⁴, including Nabta Playa → Philae at 52.50° (Δ = 0.02°, tightest match in network). We interpret these patterns as potential evidence for shared directional architecture encoding process-phase structure without requiring linguistic transmission.
