Abstract. Paraprososthenia liyuntongi nom. nov. is proposed to replace Paraproso-sthenia lijiangensis Y.-T. Li, 1988, from the Sheshan Formation (Lower or Middle Pleistocene) in the Lijiang Basin, western Yunnan, China.
