SYNTHESISM AND THE METADISCIPLINARY ARCHITECTURE OF KNOWLEDGE: A BIBLICAL-THEOLOGICAL EPISTEMOLOGY BEYOND RATIONALISM AND FIDEISM
Description
This paper advances Synthesism as a philosophical framework
providing coherence for the integration of diverse knowledge
sources within the MKS®-Thronaxis metadisciplinary architecture.
Building upon the Harmonized Terminological Prolegomenon
(Maiywa-Masai, 2025), This study demonstrates that Synthesism
operates through Four Movements—Reception, Observation,
Integration, Application—which enables principled integration
without reduction or collapse. The paper distinguishes
Synthesism from Hierarchical Epistemology, which provides
cognitive ordering through Four Epistemic Axes (Revelation →
Inspiration → Reason → Sanctified Opinion). Through rigorous
biblical exegesis of Romans 12:1–2 and integration of Fernando
Canale’s cognitive hermeneutics, the study shows how the MKS
The Thronaxis framework transcends the classical rationalism-fideism
dichotomy. By establishing revelation as the ultimate epistemic
Authority while affirming reason’s indispensable cognitive role
in faith and discernment, the Four Pillars of MKS-Thronaxis—
Thronaxis Cosmology (ontological grounding), Hierarchical
Epistemology (cognitive ordering), Synthesism (philosophical
coherence), and Empirical Metadisciplinary Theology
(methodological integration)—together accomplish homecoming
reintegration: the return of fragmented disciplines to their
proper places within an ordered whole.
