Description

This study aims to determine the influence of the role of parents and teachers on the healthy lifestyle and nutritional status of students at SMP Negeri 2 Jenamas, South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. This study is a quantitative study using the time-series method (time series analysis). The research population consisted of all 50 seventh-grade students, 50 parents of students, and 10 teachers, all of whom were included in the sample (total sampling). Data collection techniques used questionnaires for the variables of parental role, teacher role, and healthy lifestyle behaviors, as well as anthropometric measurements (height and weight) to determine nutritional status. The research instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability using SPSS 27. The validity test was conducted using item-total correlation analysis, while the reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha, resulting in a reliability value of 0.878 for the parental role questionnaire, 0.952 for the teacher role questionnaire, and 0.792 for the healthy lifestyle questionnaire. All instruments were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis was performed through descriptive tests, normality tests, t-tests (partial), and F-tests (simultaneous) with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that: (1) parental role had a positive and significant effect on students' healthy lifestyle behaviors with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05; (2) the role of teachers has a positive and significant effect on healthy lifestyle behaviors with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05; and (3) simultaneously, the roles of parents and teachers have a significant effect on healthy lifestyle behaviors with a calculated F value > table F value (12.214 > 3.19). However, the results of the analysis of nutritional status show that both the role of parents and the role of teachers, partially or simultaneously, do not have a significant effect on the nutritional status of students with a significance value > 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that the roles of parents and teachers have a real contribution in shaping the healthy lifestyle behaviors of students, but do not directly affect their nutritional status. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between families, schools, and health workers in strengthening nutrition literacy and the sustainable implementation of healthy living behaviors in school and home environments.
