Brachyaspistes tibialis Jekel in Green 1903: 52. [Type locality: Ceylon; Type in the National Pusa Collection, India]
Sri Lankan records. Green (1903: 52); Poorani & Ramamurthy (1997: 41).
Distribution. Sri Lanka.
Biological notes. This species was found to cause serious injury to young tea plants by feeding on the foliage (Green 1903).
