Description
TABLE 1. Interpretations of genera of Goniodidae in selected publications. Genera not described at the time of a publication are denoted by dashes (---). For genera treated as synonyms we use the form “As XXXX ”. Species group letters used by Clay (1940) are included based on where the species treated by Clay (1940) would be placed in the classification proposed here. Kéler (1940), Eichler (1963) and Mey (2009) accepted Goniodidae Mjöberg, 1910 as valid, whereas Hopkins & Clay (1952) and Price et al. (2003) included it in Philopteridae Burmeister, 1838. Except for the genera revised here, detailed justifications for accepting other genera as valid will be published elsewhere (Gustafsson & Johnson, in prep.).
