Description
almaqso is an automated tool for downloading and analyzing ALMA calibration sources (quasars). This repository is a maintained fork of the original astroysmr/almaqso (created by Yuki Yoshimura), which is no longer actively maintained. The project focuses on bug fixes and implementing new features to streamline ALMA calibrator data workflows. Originally developed for analyzing absorption lines, this package addresses a limitation of the standard calibration scripts attached to ALMA archive data, which often mask absorption lines. By generating calibration scripts that preserve these lines, this package ensures accurate analysis of absorption features.
Key Features:
- Automated Calibrator Data Download: Automatically queries and downloads calibration source data from the ALMA Science Archive
- Automated Data Processing: Processes downloaded ALMA data using CASA pipeline with customizable parameters
- Imaging & Analysis:
- Supports multiple imaging modes (MFS, MFS per SPW, cube)
- Automatic FITS export
- Spectrum calculation and analysis
- Batch Processing: Parallel processing support for handling multiple datasets efficiently
- CASA Integration: Designed to work seamlessly with CASA version 6 with ALMA pipeline support
Requirements:
- CASA version 6 with ALMA pipeline (tested with v6.6.6-17-pipeline-2025.1.0.35)
- analysisUtilities scripts
