  • 1. Tianjin University of Technology and Education

Description

Curriculum outlines what the aim of education should be, what should be included in it, how and when it should be delivered, and how to assess its performance and consider ways to improve the entire educational process. Any curriculum creation process aims to answer questions such as how a curriculum is created, executed, and assessed, as well as who is involved, and what processes and procedures are used the successful deployment of CDIO requires both top down and bottom up approaches. To ensure that the institutional vision and educational development objectives are in sync, the management team may decide to apply the CDIO framework and the top down methodol ogy. On the other side, challenges to implementing CDIOs include a shift in faculty mindset, conflict, and duplication of work in terms of national accreditation and qualification criteria. To solve these problems, the bottom up strategy is suggested. With the involvement of faculty members, members of the program committee, and department heads, the changing process increases an internal motivation, a strong commitment, ownership, and value of CDIO.
