ESIIL Social Network Analysis 2025

The Environmental Data Science Innovation and Inclusion Lab (ESIIL) evaluation team uses social network analysis (SNA) to characterize ESIIL’s network each year and to evaluate changes to the network since its start. The evaluation team analyzes both the entire ESIIL network (e.g. people and organizations) and ESIIL members’ personal networks to gather information about who engages with ESIIL and how ESIIL members interact with others. This Year 3 Social Network Analysis Report characterizes the people and organizations within the ESIIL network. The report presents cumulative data from three waves of network surveys to characterize the ESIIL network now and discusses changes from Year 1 to Year 3 in terms of network size and connectedness. The report will also offer recommendations on how the network data could be used for communication across ESIIL and connection building.
