Description
Logistics network design is the core component of supply chain systems structuring how
resources, goods and information flow among interconnected actors within supply chain.
While supply chain exploration often prioritizes upstream sourcing configurations and
operational integration, the logistics networks structures receive little attention. This
paper develops a conceptual understanding about the role of logistics network design in
shaping supply chain performance, responsiveness, and stability. By emphasizing
facility location, transport network links and network configuration, the paper suggests
that logistics network design should be acknowledged as a strategic cornerstone of
effective supply chain management.
