La situla Randi 34 di Este e il suo coperchio: tecnologia, note di restauro e nuova proposta di restituzione grafica

Riassunto

La situla Randi e il suo coperchio sono stati scoperti nel 1905 da A. Alfonsi in uno scavo della necropoli omonima di Este. I due reperti bronzei, fin da subito, apparivano molto ossidati e frammentati. In seguito sono stati restaurati da L. Calore e disegnati da A. Callegari in occasione della pubblicazione in “Studi Etruschi” nel 1924. I due manufatti istoriati sono stati recentemente esaminati nell’ambito del progetto di revisione dei vecchi disegni e di studio tecnologico dei reperti della prima fase dell’Arte delle situle. Vengono così proposti due nuovi rilievi elaborati e sviluppati grazie a recenti restauri e alla fondamentale documentazione archivistica. Con questo contributo, mediante l’analisi tecnologica e tipologica, vengono formulate alcune considerazioni sull’origine e sull’uso dei reperti per una loro migliore contestualizzazione nel panorama della prima attestazione dell’Arte delle situle nel Veneto.

Abstract

The situla Randi and its lid were discovered in 1905 by A. Alfonsi during an excavation of the necropolis of the same in Este. The two bronze finds, from the very beginning, appeared very oxidized and fragmented. They were later restored by L. Calore and drawn by A. Callegari on the occasion of the publication in “Studi Etruschi” in 1924. The two historiated artefacts were recently examined as part of the project to revise the old drawings and technological study of the finds from the first phase of the “Situla Art”. Two new reliefs are thus proposed, elaborated and developed thanks to recent restorations and fundamental archival documentation. With this contribution, through technological and typological analysis, some considerations are formulated on the origin and use of the finds for their better contextualization in the panorama of the first attestation of the “Situla Art” in the Veneto.
