Algorithms to reproduce the data processing carried out for the following publication on Catena: "On the calculation of the land cover and management factor in soil erosion assessments".

C_A3_codes.py: It allows assigning the land cover and management factor (C-factor) of RUSLE based on Corine Land Cover 2018 (CLC2018) and lookup tables (LUTs). It requires as input: 

  • CLC2018 shapefile (it can be downloaded from the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service);
  • Lookup tables (available in the file CLC18_C_LUTs.CSV in this repository)

C_A4_codes.py: It allows assigning the land cover and management factor (C-factor) of RUSLE based on NDVI values. It requires as input: 

  • NDVI maps.

Notice that NDVI composites were created with Google Earth Engine. Available code at: https://code.earthengine.google.com/0093501d102273701f561852a7d57092
