Correlating Axon Diameter and Conduction Velocity in Earthworm Giant Fibers: A Comparative Electrophysiological study
Authors/Creators
Description
This study investigates the relationship between axon diameter and conduction velocity in the giant nerve fibers of earthworms. Using electrophysiological experiments, we measured how fast signals travel along axons of different sizes and compared the results across multiple specimens. The findings provide insights into how axon size affects nerve signal transmission, helping to better understand basic principles of neural function.
